MEDIATE

O investment in social practices has been present since its foundation in 1997. Working in partnerships with public entities and the third sector, MEDIARE has offered these scenarios the voluntary practice of Conflict Mediation and Dialogue Facilitation, as well as teaching programs for different natures – training mediators and improving skills for productive dialogue are examples of our contribution to these contexts and community contexts.

MEDIARE has been seeking two types of partnership, aiming to expand the scope of its purpose of sharing socio-emotional skills for dialogue – soft skills, and disseminate the multiplier effect of this learning: (i) the student body of university degrees, in order to positively interfere in this second academic stage of the subjects' training; and (ii) with entities that operate in contexts identified as minorized and vulnerable, in order to expand personal and functional resources among their members.

blankThe objective of the Project Mediation for All has been to share communication and negotiation tools extracted from Conflict Mediation, in lectures or seminars, aiming to improve knowledge about: productive dialogue processes and socio-emotional skills for building consensus in coexistence and decision-making, as well as for the proper management of conflicts with the preservation of differences to be legitimized and articulated in harmony.

Immersed in a contemporary world that values diversity in coexistence and speed in decision-making, due to the speed of change and the shortening of the average life of ideas, we chose to bring together these tools and purposes, focusing primarily on the Productive Dialogue as an instrument primacy of negotiating differences and seeking consensus.

The skills for productive dialogue – soft skills, are an indispensable resource for this scenario, which will also rely on algorithms as performers of repetitive tasks, requiring socio-emotional resources from humans for what will be its main differential – interpersonal relationships.
